The cruise season begins in Avilés with the return of the “Braemar”, the ship of “Fred Olsen”.
Cruise passengers will have ten hours to explore the town or visit other points of interest in the region. The ship, which has 485 cabins of various categories and a capacity for more than 1,300 people, including guests and crew, will depart for A Coruña.
Throughout this year, three more cruise ships are scheduled to dock at the local piers: the “Braemar,” once again; the “MS Europa”; and the “Black Watch,” which will close out the season.
The latter has a capacity for 807 passengers and 310 crew members and is 205 meters long, 27 meters wide, and has a draft of 7.5 meters. Four port calls are already confirmed for next year: the “Braemar” (May 4 and June 20), the “Boudicca” (July 25), and the “Ms Bremen” (October 6).
