British cruise company Thomson Cruises will begin a series of 26 calls with the start and end of the itinerary in the Port of Malaga.

The chosen vessel will be the 'Thomson Spirit', which is 216 meters long and has a maximum capacity to accommodate 1,254 passengers in its 627 cabins, as well as 520 crew members.
The cruises will call every Sunday between May 8th and October 30th, following various one-week itineraries to the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. This operation is expected to bring approximately 56,000 cruise passengers to the Port of Málaga, according to the cruise line's estimates. The majority of passengers will be from the United Kingdom and Ireland.
This is the second time that the British shipping company has chosen Malaga as the starting and ending point of its itineraries, after making 7 stops based in the port in March and April 2014 with the ship 'Thomson Majesty', moving nearly 20,000 passengers.
It is worth noting that, in addition to the 26 home port calls, the company has planned 8 more transit calls during 2016 with the ships 'Thomson Celebration', 'Thomson Dream' and 'Thomson Celebration'.
