The Carnival cruise ship Adonia Fathom visited Havana, Cienfuegos, and Santiago de Cuba. Passengers required special visas due to US travel restrictions.

The island's capital was the first stop for the Adonia Fathom, which set sail from Miami, on a historic voyage that marks another milestone in the thawing of relations between the two governments.
The cruise, which has a seven-day itinerary, will also visit Cienfuegos and Santiago de Cuba. Other companies, such as Norwegian Cruise Line and Royal Caribbean Cruises, are already in talks with Cuba to begin routes to the island from the United States.
If other companies eventually follow Carnival's example, up to 150 cruise ships could be seen heading to the island in the next year, which translates to more than 100,000 people.
