A total of four cruise ships have been simultaneously at the Navantia shipyards in Cadiz for repairs for a few days, which "confirms the position of the Cadiz shipyard as a world leader in the repair and modernization of large cruise ships," according to Navantia.
These repairs ensure a "significant workload", in addition to generating induced employment in the city of Cadiz due to the services required by crew members and technicians, according to the company itself.
One of the cruise ships currently undergoing repairs is the 'Mein Shiff 3' from Tui Cruises, docked at number four in Cadiz, which has had a new transverse propeller installed at the stern to improve the ship's maneuverability.
Another ship is Royal Caribbean's 'Splendour of the Seas', which will undergo dry-docking and a complete interior and exterior refurbishment during the latter part of April and the month of May.
The third cruise ship to arrive at the Cádiz shipyards is 'The World', managed by Wilhelmsen. According to Navantia, it is the largest ship owned by private individuals who have purchased or leased its 165 luxury suites. The ship has 12 decks which, in addition to the suites, offer swimming pools, shops, and restaurants. The ship has completed its dry-docking and interior upgrades.
Finally, the 'World Odyssey' of Cruise American Associates is in the Rosario dock or dock number one of Cadiz to, in addition to carrying out its regular dry-docking works, undertake important improvement works of the accommodation, which will last approximately one month.
