The more than 800 passengers of the Braemar ship, belonging to the Fred Olsen shipping company, have inaugurated the new cruise terminal of the Port of Seville, with a stop at the Muelle de las Delicias.
Its 824 passengers and 394 crew members will be the first to make use of the facilities that the port has set up for cruise passengers in its new terminal, the Port Authority of Seville specified in a note.
The ship, consigned by the company Pérez y Cía, arrived in Seville from Lisbon, bound for Vigo. It also has two more stops scheduled, one in June and another in July.
This cruise ship from the Fred Olsen Cruises company is one of the largest that will dock at the Muelle de las Delicias in 2016, with a length of 196 meters and a beam of 22.5 meters.
Following the arrival of the Braemar on Holy Tuesday, the city expects four more cruise ships during the week of the April Fair. The Tere Moana is scheduled to arrive on Monday the 11th; the Corinthian on the 12th and 15th; and Le Lyrial on the 16th.
Inaugurated at the end of February, the new passenger terminal at the Port of Seville symbolizes the Port Authority's commitment to cruise tourism, positioning the city as a home port for embarkation and disembarkation, as reported by HOSTELTUR tourism news. Seville will be able to be a home port with the new Las Delicias cruise terminal.
It is a sustainable building, constructed from recycled 'high cube' shipping containers, with 1,090 square meters of floor space distributed over two floors. Thirty-one cruise ships are expected to arrive between March and November 2016, in addition to the 46 calls made by the 'Belle de Cadix'.
