Cunard Line, the company with the longest tradition and a history forged over 175 years of maritime experience, announces the upcoming refurbishment of the Queen Mary 2, which will enter dry dock at the end of May at the Blohm & Voss shipyard in Hamburg, Germany. On June 21, the Queen Mary 2 will once again set sail, retaining its style and impressive size but transformed into a completely new ocean liner.
The renovation aims to make changes to the restaurants, lounges, cabins, suites and other common areas of the ship to make the passengers' stay much more comfortable and satisfying.
Restaurants
The Verandah restaurant will be completely renovated by this date. There, guests can enjoy exquisite French cuisine in an elegant and bright setting.
King Court's will be transformed into an open buffet, with self-service and a more informal atmosphere.
Also joining the renovation will be the Carinthia Lounge dining room, which is designed for enjoying an exquisite afternoon tea.
Rooms
Britannia cabins will feature a new look with a design inspired by the company's traditional style. Their carefully crafted design will showcase the cruise line's classic blue and gold colors. Guests will enjoy unique amenities such as choosing their own pillow. During the renovation, single cabins will be added for solo travelers. This recently introduced initiative will be rolled out gradually across all ships in the fleet.
The exclusive Grills areas will also showcase their new and refined look, featuring spacious suites and elegant, sophisticated restaurants. The ship's most majestic spaces will be transformed into bright and airy environments, reflecting impeccable taste and synonymous with the luxury that has always defined this cruise line.
Additional spaces
A new indoor play area will be included, the walking area will be expanded, and ten new spaces for pets will be added, among other modifications.
