Crystal Cruises has announced the construction of a 200-seater mega-yacht for luxury cruises, the Crystal Endeavour, capable of sailing through the polar circles.
This ship is 183 meters long and has a gross tonnage of 25,000, with 100 suites. It will be built at the Lloyd Werft shipyards in Germany and is scheduled for delivery in August 2018.
This is an exploration vessel that will meet the PC6 Polar Class standard, allowing it to navigate polar regions in summer and autumn. It will be equipped with dynamic positioning, enabling it to anchor over coral reefs or other ecologically valuable areas without using anchors.
It will also have a very complete set of equipment on board (a submarine, a helicopter, kayaks, jet skis, etc.).
