- The Monarch, renovated in 2013, strengthens Pullmantur Cruises' itinerary offering in Spain during the high season.

The Pullmantur Group is reinforcing its commitment to the Spanish market with the arrival of the Monarch next summer season, following the completion of its Caribbean operations. This addition represents an increase in capacity of approximately 1,000 passengers per sailing.
With this decision, the Group aims to further clarify its current strategy, which involves maintaining a presence in Latin America during the peak season with a revamped offering, while focusing on the Spanish and French markets, key to its growth. In both countries, through both the Pullmantur Cruises and Croisières de France brands, it holds a prominent position in the cruise sector.
Regarding Spain, Sonia Prieto, General Manager of Pullmantur Cruises in Spain and Portugal, affirms that “we are constantly working to optimize our resources in order to improve our offering to the passengers who place their trust in us each season and make us their preferred cruise line.”
Thus, “the arrival of this ship to our operations in Spain, the Group’s main market, is the response we, as a company, needed to give to the market’s maturity, which demands a continuous improvement of our offerings and helps us to continue growing,” he states.
The Monarch & 'The Waves Yacht Club'
Having undergone extensive refurbishment in 2013, the Monarch is a sister ship to the Sovereign, with a capacity of 2,766 passengers and 12 decks.
It boasts unique services within the Group’s fleet, such as “The Waves Yacht Club,” a true oasis of distinction at sea designed for the most discerning passengers.
This area offers premium services such as Balinese beds, complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the day, and a buffet, as well as priority embarkation and disembarkation and numerous cabin amenities (high-end toiletries and accessories, bathrobes and slippers, a pillow menu, in-room canapés and pastries, a Lavazza coffee and tea machine, etc.).
The Monarch will be based in Northern Europe to cover the 'Baltic Capitals' and 'Northern Fjords' itineraries, two of Pullmantur Cruises Spain's most iconic routes.
Empress
will be transferred to the Royal Caribbean fleet starting in February 2016. This ship has sailed the Northern Seas routes for the past several seasons.
