Costa Diadema, the flagship of the Costa Cruises fleet, will celebrate its first birthday on November 7, 2015. For this special occasion, the Italian cruise line will unveil many new features to commemorate Italian excellence and make holidays on board even more memorable.
The Costa Diadema has always offered its passengers the best of Italy in terms of quality, passion, and hospitality. Thanks to these qualities, the offerings, gastronomy, entertainment, and hospitality will be enhanced with a unique Italian style.
New features on the Costa Diadema include a new space, opening in January 2016, entirely dedicated to gourmet Costa-style burgers: a true haven of flavor within the Corona Blu restaurant. Here, burger lovers, who appreciate this Italian culinary tradition, will find high-quality, 100% Italian Fassone beef, along with fresh vegetables and Italian cheeses. For example, passengers can enjoy a burger with porcini mushrooms and Taleggio cheese, a cheeseburger with caramelized onions, or a beef burger with smoked Provola cheese. Delicious vegetarian options will also be available. The gourmet burgers will be served with sides and paired with Italian craft beers.
Starting in December 2015, families with children can enjoy an even more comfortable cruise: all the delights of the new regional menus, and all the children's favorite meals, will be available not only in the ship's main restaurants, but also in the central area of the Corona Blu restaurant. This truly convenient option will allow families to dine at their leisure and in a more informal setting with their children, without compromising on the quality of the dishes created by Costa's chefs. In addition, all the ship's restaurants will offer a variety of vegetarian and vegan options.
Another new feature is the exquisite Italian gelato from Agrimontana: it can be enjoyed not only at Gelateria Amarillo on deck 5, but also in many other areas of the ship, and even by the pool, thanks to a mobile cart similar to those used on Italian beaches, offering new and incredible flavors. Gelateria Amarillo will also serve the traditional Sicilian breakfast, with granitas and brioches.
Always with a focus on gastronomy, and starting in December 2015, the Samsara Restaurant on the Costa Diadema will offer a completely different menu, featuring some fresh and enticing ideas that result in a fusion of Asian and South American flavors, combined with a Mediterranean spirit. Stefano Fontanesi, Costa's Corporate Chef, and Riccardo Bellaera, Costa's Corporate Pastry Chef, have created the special Pacific Fusion menu, where the Mediterranean meets the Pacific. For example, passengers can enjoy one of South America's most popular dishes, ceviche made with marinated fish and slightly spicy tropical fruits, reinterpreted with the full Italian flavor of sweet Tropea onions. Or fettuccine with red prawns, lime, and toasted cashews. The 'new' Samsara Restaurant will be open for dinner, and reservations are required.
Entertainment on board the Costa Diadema will be even more exciting. New shows, music, dancing, and parties will move beyond the theater and be spread throughout the ship. Passengers on board Costa's flagship can enjoy themselves in different areas of the Costa Diadema, with numerous live music performances dedicated to various genres and musical groups, or they can unleash their best dance moves with a DJ, enjoy pool parties, and participate in themed celebrations.
