Luxury cruise company Crystal Cruises has announced a major expansion of its fleet in the coming years, which includes 3 new ships, a luxury yacht, river cruises and even a Boeing 787.
The shipping company has signed an agreement with Lloyd Werft shipyards to build three new all-suite vessels of 100,000 tons, with a capacity for 1,000 passengers . Boasting the highest space-to-passenger ratio ever seen, these ships will debut at the end of 2018 and will incorporate luxury features such as expedition Zodiacs, helicopters, and mini-submarines, adapted for exploring Antarctica and the Arctic . They will also include 48 luxury residences that can be purchased or rented as second homes , complete with their own reception area and private restaurant.
Crystal also intends to enter the river cruise market in spring 2017with two luxury ships, under the new brand Crystal River Cruises.
Another of the company's plans involves acquiring a Boeing 787, configured to accommodate only 60 passengers in a luxury environment, which will be used to travel around the world under the Crystal Luxury Air brand.
The next addition to the fleet will be a new luxury yacht,the Crystal Esprit, with a capacity for just 62 passengers, which will debut in December 2015.It will offer onboard water sports and even a small submarine for two people to explore the seabed or even hold underwater weddings. It will be marketed under the Crystal Yacht Cruises, and the company hasn't ruled out adding more yachts.
