Twenty ships and 32,000 passengers will arrive at the Port of Cartagena during the two summer months.
During July and August, 20 cruise ships will call at the Port of Cartagena (9 in July and 11 in August), carrying more than 32,000 passengers (over 15,000 in July and 17,000 in August).
Two of these ships will be making their first call in Cartagena. One of them is the Costa Magica, which arrives in port today with 3,470 passengers. The next will be the Explorer of the Seas, which will call on August 13 and has a capacity of 3,114 passengers. The Explorer of the Seas belongs to Royal Caribbean's Voyager Class. This class consists of four cruise ships, in addition to the Explorer, all of which have already visited the Port of Cartagena: Voyager of the Seas, Navigator of the Seas, Mariner of the Seas, and Adventure of the Seas.
On July 30th, there will be a double port call: the Aidaaura (1,600 passengers) and the Europa 2 (516 passengers). The next double port call will be on August 13th, with the Explorer of the Seas and the Europa 2. And on August 20th, three cruise ships will be in port at Cartagena: the Viking Star, the Thomson Dream, and the Aidaaura, carrying more than 3,700 tourists across the three vessels.
During these two peak summer months, some cruise ships will make repeat calls in both July and August: the Europa 2 (twice in July and once in August), the Aidaaura (twice in July and once in August), and the Anthem of the Seas (once in July and once in August). The champion of the summer, both in length, at 348 meters, and in capacity, 4,100 passengers, is the Anthem of the Seas, which made its first stop in Cartagena on June 24, after entering service in the spring of this year.
