On Sunday, April 25, the last home port operation was carried out with the ship AidaStella (some 4500 passengers were served in disembarkation and embarkation) which began the winter season in the Canary Islands together with the AidaBlu and AidaCara, with the first operation in the port of Las Palmas on September 14, 2014, and which after 33 weeks with us is moving to the Mediterranean.
Next winter season it will be replaced by its sister ship AidaSol, starting on August 30, 2015, and will spend 36 weeks in the Canary Islands during the 2015-2016 season, ending on May 1, 2016.
Before the AidaStella and its sister ships from Aida Cruises, the TUI Cruises ship MeinSchiff 3, the MSC Armonía and the Thomson holidays ships had also finished their 2014-2015 winter season based in Las Palmas in April.
In total, by the end of April, more than 600,000 passengers had passed through the Port of Las Palmas this winter, representing a 12% increase compared to the previous season, reaffirming the current leadership that Las Palmas has achieved over other port facilities in the Madeira, Canary Islands and North Africa cruise area.
After the operations of the Thomson Celebration on Saturday the 25th and the AidaStella on Sunday the 26th, which will also coincide with the Azura of the P&O, tomorrow Tuesday the 28th of April the Queen Mary 2 and the Silver Explorer arrive, and on Wednesday the 29th the Explorer of the Seas of the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and the Rotterdam of the Holland America Line.
