Escalators and canopies have been installed to provide shade.
The Balearic Islands Port Authority (APB) has completed improvements to the access to the first floor of Maritime Station Number 1 in the Port of Palma. These improvements aim to facilitate the embarkation and disembarkation of cruise ship passengers docking at the extended Poniente docks. The works, carried out over the last five months by the construction company Vías y Contratas, SA, at a cost of €650,000, involved extending the first floor of Maritime Station Number 1 by eighteen meters and installing an elevated walkway with two escalators and one staircase. This will significantly speed up and improve access for passengers traveling through the central part of the Poniente Docks. In addition, passenger comfort has been enhanced by installing canopies to provide shade along the new berths at the Poniente Docks.
