MSC Cruises has been named the Official Cruise Company of Expo 2015, the Universal Exposition that has been held since 1851 and in which the great achievements of humankind are showcased and the major issues affecting humanity are debated.
Under the agreement, MSC Cruises, the market leader in the Mediterranean, South Africa and Brazil, will proudly display the Expo Milan 2015 logo on the hull of MSC Fantasia, which will sail the Mediterranean throughout 2015.
MSC Cruises will also be an official ticket seller for the Expo, so travelers can purchase tickets on board and visit the event as part of a series of special shore excursions during the stops in Genoa and La Spezia. Between May and October, approximately 600,000 cruise passengers.
The collaboration between MSC Cruises and Expo Milan 2015 will formally begin coinciding with the Borsa Italiana del Turismo 2015 (BIT) tourism trade fair, during which MSC Cruises will be present at the Expo Milan 2015 stand.
This year's Expo, which will be held in Milan from May 1 to October 31, explores sustainability in the food sector under the theme "Feeding the planet, energy for life".
MSC Cruises CEO Gianni Onorato stated: “The theme of Expo Milan 2015 is something we take very seriously in our daily work, in how we operate and function as a company. Food is central to any cruise, and we offer our guests a wide variety of high-quality culinary experiences that reflect the social and cultural importance of food. Moreover, we strive to do so responsibly and sustainably.”
He added: “Since 2009, MSC Cruises and UNICEF have partnered on the 'Get On Board for Children' project, which combats child hunger and malnutrition in developing countries and emergency situations. Since the start of this collaboration, our customers have donated more than €3 million to UNICEF.”

MSC Cruises will be present throughout the exhibition with a multimedia space dedicated to the revolutionary “Ships of the Future”, which will be ready from 2017.
