The Port Authority of Gijón has reported that this year, with regard to North American companies, two calls are expected from the ship Anthem of the Seas, with a capacity to transport 4,108 passengers and 2,304 crew members.
The port of El Musel will receive more than 16,000 cruise passengers and 8,000 crew members on twelve ships this year, an estimate that will be exceeded in 2016.
In a statement, the Port Authority reported that this year, with regard to North American companies, two calls are expected from the ship Anthem of the Seas, the largest that has docked in Gijón, with a capacity to transport 4,108 passengers and 2,304 crew members.
On the other hand, the American shipping company Oceania, from the Prestige group, will dock for the first time with its flagship ship Insignia, and the shipping company Windstar will also do so with the Star Legend.
The World will arrive in July and will stop for two consecutive days, staying overnight in the port, and the new shipping company Aida Cruises will arrive in August.
On the other hand, the estimated forecasts for 2016 are the arrival in Gijón of 16 stops, which would reach around 30,000 passengers and 14,000 crew members.
Last year, despite the bad sea conditions, ended with nine port calls, almost 14,000 passengers and more than 5,000 crew members.
