CLIA improves and expands its executive partner program

The Executive Partner Program reaffirms CLIA's commitment to the entire value chain.

The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA), which represents the global cruise industry, today announced the renewal of its Global Executive Partner Program, designed to provide more opportunities for the entire cruise industry to engage in CLIA programs and activities.

Christine Duffy, President and CEO of CLIA, states that “based on feedback from member cruise lines and other stakeholders, CLIA is introducing an enhanced and tailored program for 2015.” “With this evolution of the Executive Partner Program, we want to reaffirm our commitment to the cruise industry value chain in line with our vision, ‘one industry, one voice,’ as well as expand our collaboration to all components of the industry.”

In 2015, the Executive Partner Program will include a number of enhancements, such as the creation of communities of interest and the organization of new events and exclusive offers for each of the four new membership categories: Ports and Destinations, Travel Agents, Supply Chain and Technical Services, and Commercial Services. In addition, in 2015, CLIA will restrict access to most of its events to members and offer them preferential sponsorship opportunities.

The tiers that previously comprised the CLIA Executive Partner Program structure, assigned geographically (National, Regional, and Global), will be replaced by Silver, Gold, and Diamond, reflecting the global nature of the cruise industry and specifying the benefits and rates corresponding to each tier. The Silver tier offers an affordable, entry-level membership category and is intended for smaller national markets in Europe and Australasia. The Gold and Diamond tiers offer additional benefits for more established markets.

Christine Duffy states that “the new partner categories are designed to offer more relevant networking and brand awareness opportunities, while the new partner tiers provide clearly defined levels of access to the CLIA network for each Partner. We look forward to expanding relationships with our current Partners and welcoming new CLIA Partners in the coming months.”

CLIA’s vision, “one industry, one voice,” is to represent, protect, and foster the growth of the entire cruise industry and its stakeholders. The CLIA Global Executive Partner Program was launched in 2014, following CLIA’s transformation into the global trade association for the cruise industry, to engage the stakeholders who shape the industry’s offering. Furthermore, by further uniting ports and destinations, travel agents, manufacturers, and service providers, the Program aims to create a community committed to the continued success of the cruise industry worldwide.
