During the event, the Madrina della Regina, who is Italian, will be accompanied by four international bridesmaids, also travel agents, who will arrive from Spain, Germany, France and China.
The Costa Diadema will be sailing the Mediterranean and will have departures on Mondays from Barcelona and Tuesdays from Palma de Mallorca, from November 10th and 11th respectively, until the end of 2015.
A Spanish bridesmaid will be one of the stars of the special christening event for the Costa Diadema, which will take place on November 7 in Genoa.
After being selected from over 700 women from more than 50 different countries, Patricia López Soberón, from Viajes El Corte Inglés in Madrid, has been chosen as one of the representatives of Costa Crociere's values, thanks to her positive attitude and passionate work at her travel agency. As a travel agent, she has become a true ambassador for Costa, offering the best cruise vacations to her clients. The godmother of the new ship will be Carolina Miceli, from Palermo, who, in addition to the Spanish woman, will be accompanied by three other bridesmaids from Germany, France, and China.
The godmother of the Costa Diadema and her four bridesmaids will have an extraordinary experience on the night of November 7, when the christening ceremony will bring the ship's elegant Teatro Esmeralda to life and the city of Genoa will become the stage for a grand celebration.

During the gala evening, the Madrina della Regina will sit next to the captain of the Costa Diadema and, during the most memorable and emotional moment of the ceremony, will take to the stage to pronounce the ritual, “I name you Costa Diadema.” The captain will respond, “In the name of God, Madrina, cut!” and she will cut the ribbon, causing a jeroboam (3-liter) bottle of Ferrari Gran Cuvée Trento DOC, with a unique label created specifically for this event by the renowned sparkling wine brand, to shatter against the hull of the new flagship.
Following the christening, the godmother and her bridesmaids will also be the stars of an elegant gala dinner on board, seated at the head table as guests of honor. The Costa Diadema will become a symbol of Italian excellence, which will also be the theme of the entire event, from the personalized bottle of Ferrari Trento DOC used for the christening to other Ferrari labels served throughout the festivities.
Passengers aboard the Costa Diadema, who will be traveling on board during the inaugural cruise, will also have the opportunity to learn about Ferrari's history from a representative of the winery. In addition, during aperitivo hour, guests can participate in a tasting of Ferrari sparkling wines, a special event taking place in the Bollicine Bar during the inaugural cruises.
As the Queen of the Mediterranean, the Costa Diadema will be sailing the Mediterranean. From November 10th until the end of 2015, the new flagship will depart every Monday from Barcelona on seven-day Mediterranean cruises, with weekly stops in Palma de Mallorca (where embarkation will also be available), Naples, La Spezia/Florence, Savona, and Marseille.
