Cunard's new cruise ship, the Queen Anne, entered Edinburgh's River Forth on Sunday, May 26, with water cannons led by local piper Louise Marshall to mark the ship's maiden voyage to South Queensferry.

Rob Mason, head of cruises at Capital Cruising, said: “We are delighted to welcome Cunard’s newest ship to the River Forth. It’s a magnificent vessel, and we gave it a warm Scottish welcome upon its arrival in South Queensferry early this morning. The cruise industry in Scotland makes a significant contribution to the economy, sustaining hundreds of jobs and providing benefits to local businesses and communities.”
“This is our busiest cruise season ever, as passengers and cruise lines choose our ports and anchorages to access the wide variety of attractions Scotland has to offer, including our UNESCO World Heritage capital, Edinburgh“.
The Queen Anne is currently sailing on its 14-night British Isles Festival Voyage, with a round trip from Southampton.
After departing from Edinburgh, the ship will call at Kirkwall (Scotland), Invergordon (Scotland), Greenock (Glasgow) (Scotland), Belfast (Northern Ireland), Liverpool (England) and Cork (Ireland) before returning to Southampton on June 7.
