Carnival Corporation has appointed Paul Ludlow as president of Carnival UK, in addition to his leadership role at P&O Cruises, according to a press release. In his new position, Ludlow will assume full commercial and operational responsibility for Carnival UK, which includes P&O Cruises and Cunard globally.
Cunard's new president, Katie McAlister, who will join the company in August, will report to Ludlow.
As part of this leadership change, Sture Myrmell will be leaving the business after a long career with the company.
Regarding the changes, Carnival Corporation & plc Chairman Josh Weinstein said, “Paul is a 21-year veteran of the company with extensive experience across all business departments and multiple brands of our cruise lines. That experience, combined with his leadership and track record of outstanding results, makes him the perfect choice for this role.”
Weinstein added: “I would also like to thank Sture for 30 years of dedicated service. From his beginnings with our company as a Cunard Officer, through his presidency of P&O Cruises – Australia, to coming full circle and ultimately leading Carnival UK, including the venerable Cunard brand, Sture’s dedication and contributions to our company have been significant. We wish him all the best.”.
