Silversea has launched its 2026/2027 Antarctic season with the first sailings of the Silver Endeavour from King George Island and the Silver Wind from Puerto Williams, Chile. Through March 2027, the Silver Endeavour, Silver Wind, and Silver Cloud will operate a total of 40 voyages, including 29 Antarctica Fly Cruise itineraries, which will include a stay at The Cormorant at 55 South. The cruises will range from six to 21 nights and will extend beyond the Antarctic Peninsula to South Georgia and the Falkland Islands.

Silversea inaugurates the 2026/2027 Antarctic season and offers a preview of its new hotel, The Cormorant at 55 South“Antarctica is a core part of Silversea’s expedition program, and this season we’re offering our guests even more options to get there,” said Bert Hernandez, Silversea’s president. “Some will explore the Falkland Islands and South Georgia, following in the footsteps of celebrated explorers, before continuing on to the Antarctic Peninsula, while others will opt for our innovative Antarctica Fly Cruise program, which this season features the opening of The Cormorant at 55 South, where we’ll be welcoming our first guests.”.

"The Cormorant will offer a unique experience, with a perfectly connected journey to Antarctica, allowing guests to discover a region of the world that is often difficult to access, but which has so much to offer. We look forward to welcoming our guests to discover this destination from the southernmost hotel on the planet," he adds.

29 Antarctica Fly Cruise departures with round-trip flights from King George Island

The 2026/2027 Antarctic season will include 29 itineraries of the Antarctica Fly Cruise program. Fourteen departures aboard the Silver Endeavour will allow passengers to fly over the Drake Passage in both directions, with flights to and from Antarctica facilitating access to the South Shetland Peninsula and Islands.

Another 15 one-way departures aboard the Silver Wind, Silver Cloud and Silver Endeavour will combine a flight with the sea crossing of the Drake Passage, heading south on some departures and north on others.

All trips will include charter flights, expedition experiences, and Zodiac excursions.

Beyond the Antarctic Peninsula, South Georgia, the Falkland Islands and the Antarctic Circle

Eleven trips will cross the Drake Passage by sea in both directions, departing from Puerto Williams. Among the most notable itineraries are the following:

– From the Falkland Islands to the Antarctic Peninsula. The Silver Wind will sail an 18-night round-trip cruise from Puerto Williams, departing on November 7. The itinerary will include stops at West Point and Saunders Islands and Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands, before continuing to South Georgia, sailing past Elephant Island, and reaching the Antarctic Peninsula.

South Georgia and Elephant Island. The Silver Cloud will offer four 15-night cruises combining South Georgia, Elephant Island, and the Antarctic Peninsula. The first cruise departs on November 9.

– South of the Antarctic Circle. Passengers on the Silver Cloud's 12-night round-trip cruise, departing from Puerto Williams on December 9, will be able to spend a day south of the Antarctic Circle.

– Holidays in the south. The Silver Wind will depart from Puerto Williams on December 22nd for a 15-night cruise during the Christmas holidays, with visits to the Antarctic Peninsula and South Georgia.

– From Antarctica to Buenos Aires. The Silver Endeavour will embark on a 21-night cruise departing on March 4, 2027, the longest of the season and the only one ending in Buenos Aires. From Puerto Williams, the ship will sail to the Antarctic Peninsula and South Georgia, before visiting Carcass Island, West Point Island, and Port Stanley in the Falkland Islands, as well as Puerto Madryn in Argentina.

The Cormorant at 55 South, a new gateway to Antarctica from Puerto Williams

The Cormorant at 55 South will play a key role in the Antarctica Fly Cruise program during its inaugural season. All itineraries in this program will include a stay in Puerto Williams, with exclusive Silversea charter flights from Santiago, Chile. The flights will offer comfortable seating, a three-course menu, and the company's signature service. This private charter service will be the only direct flight connecting the Chilean capital with Puerto Williams.

Silversea's expedition experts, the same specialists who accompany passengers on their Antarctic voyages, will also be permanently stationed at the hotel on a rotating basis.

Among the planned activities are kayak excursions on the Beagle Channel, guided tours of Navarino Island with naturalists and birdwatching specialists, and horseback riding accompanied by a Patagonian guide, a local expert in natural environments.

The hotel's main restaurant, Latitude 55, will offer shareable meals centered around the flavors of Patagonia, while Bar Sur will serve Chilean wines and cocktails made with local ingredients.

Silversea will celebrate the official opening of The Cormorant at 55 South on November 5, 2026. Passengers on voyages prior to that date will have the opportunity to visit the property before its official opening.
