Adora Cruises will strengthen its presence in Hong Kong in 2027 with the Adora Flora City, which will be based in the city at various times of the year. The company plans to schedule approximately 20 departures from this destination, offering a mix of short cruises in Asia and longer voyages through the northeast and southeast of the continent.
The program will include four- and five-night itineraries with stops in international destinations such as Vietnam and South Korea, as well as longer voyages. The cruise line will also offer three cruises with no scheduled port calls, designed to allow passengers to fully enjoy the onboard experience throughout the entire journey.
The initiative is part of Adora Cruises' expansion strategy in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, a key region for its business development. The company considers Hong Kong a strategic point for connecting the Chinese market with international destinations and contributing to the city's positioning as a cruise hub in Asia.
A new ship to expand the offering in Asia
The Adora Flora City is the second large cruise ship built in China and a sister ship to the Adora Magic City, the country's first large vessel. It is 341 meters long, has a gross tonnage of 141,900 tons, and can accommodate 5,232 passengers in 2,130 cabins.
The ship incorporates improvements in space utilization, smart technology, and passenger experience compared to its sister ship. Its design reflects Adora Cruises' commitment to developing its own high-capacity cruise offerings and strengthening its presence in both the domestic market and international itineraries.
Before beginning its season in Hong Kong, the ship will make its maiden voyage from Guangzhou, in Guangdong province, on November 22, 2026. Hong Kong will be its first port of call. In addition, the company has planned a special New Year's Eve cruise departing on December 30, with an overnight stay in the city, allowing passengers to ring in 2027 against the backdrop of Victoria Harbour's illuminated skyline.
Hong Kong, a platform for the company's growth
The 2027 schedule coincides with the 30th anniversary of Hong Kong's return to Chinese sovereignty, a date that reinforces the city's relevance within the shipping company's regional strategy.
Adora Cruises plans to continue expanding its operational capacity in Hong Kong to meet demand and strengthen its presence in the region. The company currently operates the Adora Magic City, the Adora Mediterranea , and the Piano Land, with routes covering eastern, southern, and northern China, as well as Hong Kong.
With the deployment of the Adora Flora City, the shipping company expands embarkation possibilities in one of Asia's main tourist and maritime centers and reinforces its offer of international itineraries from the Greater Bay Area.
