Holland America offers more cruises to Montreal with the launch of its 2028 season

Holland America Line has opened bookings for its 2028 season in Canada and New England. With more calls in Montreal than any other cruise line, the season offers passengers the opportunity to discover the region's coastal communities, natural spaces, and maritime heritage aboard carefully crafted itineraries through Atlantic Canada and New England.

Holland America offers more cruises to Montreal with the launch of its 2028 seasonThe season will run from May to October 2028 aboard the Volendam and Zuiderdam, marking the Zuiderdam's debut in Canada and New England following its transformation under Holland America Line's Evolution program. Cruises will range from 7 to 14 days, with longer Collectors' Voyages options, and will depart from Montreal, Quebec City, Boston, New York, and Fort Lauderdale.

Holland America Line's midsize ships allow you to delve deeper into the region, exploring scenic waterways, historic ports, and coastal communities of Atlantic Canada and New England. Some itineraries include late-night stops in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, and Saint John, New Brunswick, as well as overnight stays in Quebec, providing more time to discover destinations ashore.

“One of the things our guests from Canada and New England love most is that they can experience the atmosphere of Europe without having to cross the Atlantic,” says Paul Grigsby, vice president of revenue planning and deployment for Holland America Line. “From the French influence of Montreal and Quebec to the maritime traditions of Atlantic Canada, the region offers an extraordinary combination of culture, history, and natural beauty. We also bring these destinations onboard through local entertainment, regional dining experiences, and destination-centric programming, so the journey is as immersive as the places we visit.”.

The experience of each destination continues onboard through regional cuisine, local entertainment, and destination-focused programming. From fresh Atlantic seafood and local specialties to performances by regional musicians like Breton Thunder, passengers can continue to connect with the culture and traditions of Canada and New England throughout their journey.

First ship in Canada and New England equipped with Holland America Evolution

As part of the 2028 season in Canada and New England, passengers will have the opportunity to sail aboard the Zuiderdam following its transformation within the Evolution program, the largest investment made by Holland America Line in its fleet throughout its 153-year history.

The Zuiderdam will be the company's first ship after its Evolution transformation to sail to Canada and New England, bringing the renewed Holland America Line onboard experience to the region for the first time.

Among the new features debuting on board the Zuiderdam are the Solo Verandah cabins, designed specifically for solo travelers; the new and spacious Bridgeview Suites, with panoramic views towards the bow; and the Grand Dutch Café, a favorite among passengers, inspired by Holland America Line's Dutch heritage.

The transformation also includes renovated staterooms and suites, updated common areas, and improvements inspired by the company's Pinnacle-class ships.

Natural spaces and historic cities

Canada and New England combine vibrant cities, spectacular coastal landscapes, and some of North America's most outstanding natural areas. From the French influence of Montreal and Quebec to the rugged coasts of Atlantic Canada and Newfoundland, the region offers a diverse mix of culture, history, and scenery.

Holland America Line's mid-sized ships allow you to get closer to destinations and access five national parks, seven UNESCO World Heritage sites, and ports that larger ships cannot reach.

Throughout the season, passengers will be able to discover iconic landmarks, travel along scenic waterways and visit historic coastal communities while learning about the region's rich maritime heritage.

The natural beauty of Canada and New England extends to its wildlife. During the season, passengers can spot beluga whales in Saguenay Fjord, as well as humpback, fin, and minke whales in various parts of Atlantic Canada, and puffins along the rugged coast of Newfoundland.
