MSC Cruises has celebrated a major milestone in the construction of its upcoming flagship, MSC World Atlantic, as the ship touched the water for the first time at the Chantiers de l'Atlantique shipyard in Saint-Nazaire, France, last week.
The launch marks an important stage in the ship's journey to joining the MSC Cruises fleet, as the ship moves from the construction dock to the water, where it will undergo the next phase of finishing before delivery.
MSC World Atlantic, which will become the twenty-fifth ship in the MSC Cruises fleet, will also be the fourth LNG-powered ship in the company's pioneering World Class series.
MSC World Atlantic is designed to combine MSC Cruises' signature European style with American comfort and will offer alternative 7- and 14-night Eastern and Western Caribbean itineraries to some of the most iconic destinations, including Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, MSC Cruises' private island in the Bahamas, starting in November 2027.
On board, passengers will have the opportunity to enjoy a perfect combination of cultures, flavors and styles from both sides of the Atlantic, brought together in an exciting destination at sea, with seven distinct zones, each with its own atmosphere, facilities and entertainment.
After its launch, MSC World Atlantic will remain at Chantiers de l'Atlantique while work continues on its interiors, public spaces and final technical details.
It is scheduled to be officially delivered to MSC Cruises in 2027, ahead of its inaugural season in the Caribbean, which will begin in November.
