Norwegian Cruise Line today unveiled the entertainment program for the highly anticipated debut of Norwegian Aura™ in May 2027, which includes the star-studded show “Whitney: A Celebration of Whitney Houston”.
Developed in collaboration with the Whitney E. Houston Estate and Primary Wave Music, this new original production pays tribute to one of the most acclaimed and best-selling artists of all time. With over 220 million records sold worldwide, seven consecutive No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, six Grammy Awards, and a legacy that continues to inspire generations, Houston's music will come alive through a contemporary concert experience created exclusively for NCL.
Norwegian Aura's programming will also include ILLUMINOX: Infinite Wonder Unboxed™, a stunning new original illusion show that combines acrobatics and visual effects; The Vinyl Republic™, NCL's newest live music collective that goes beyond the theater; and the return of LunaTique: Pop Circus™, the adults-only favorite nighttime show, creating entertainment experiences for all passengers from sunrise to sunset.

Developed in collaboration with the Whitney E. Houston Estate and music publisher Primary Wave Music, the production reinterprets Houston’s artistry through contemporary arrangements, dynamic storytelling, and immersive staging. Inspired by the glamour, self-assurance, and charisma that made Houston a global phenomenon, the show pays tribute to one of the most iconic voices ever recorded, transforming beloved songs into a vibrant concert experience that feels both timeless and entirely new. Attendees will be treated to iconic hits such as “ It’s Not Right, But It’s OK, ” “I Will Always Love You,” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody (Who Loves Me),” the RIAA-certified nine-times platinum dance-pop anthem also named “Greatest Pop Song of All Time” by Billboard magazine in 2023.
Performed at the three-story Aura Theatre & Club, this 45-minute production combines live vocals, a live band, stunning visual effects, and performances that extend beyond the main stage to create an immersive experience.

ILLUMINOX: Infinite Wonder Unboxed™ combines large-scale illusions with acrobatics, original music, and visual effects in a fast-paced theatrical production that invites audiences into a world where the impossible becomes reality. Inspired by the joy of curiosity and the thrill of the unexpected, this 45-minute production will take passengers on a dizzying journey filled with surprises and wonders at the Aura Theater & Club.
Music comes alive aboard Norwegian Aura with The Vinyl Republic™, NCL's new live music collective inspired by the legacy of vinyl records. Spanning genres from country and rock to funk, blues, and pop, the band delivers high-energy performances where no two shows are ever the same.
This group headlines two iconic experiences at the Aura Theatre & Club: The Vinyl Republic's Journey Through Rock, which pays tribute to Journey's greatest hits and the arena rock era, and The Vinyl Republic's Kickin' It Country™, a lively nighttime country party featuring today's biggest hits and interactive line dancing.
Beyond the theater, The Vinyl Republic brings live music throughout the ship, from the Penrose Atrium to the Improv at Sea, creating fresh and captivating performances that transform each space into a unique concert experience.
The hit show LunaTique: Pop Circus™ returns to expand its exclusive adult offering, combining cabaret, circus arts, and immersive nightlife, at the Aura Theatre & Club following its successful premiere aboard Norwegian Luna™. This immersive theatrical experience, featuring new acts and music, is available for an additional fee and includes tempting cocktails paired with each performance, offering a nighttime alternative that blends live entertainment with a cocktail party.
Passengers will also enjoy exclusive experiences such as Aura FIRST NIGHT™, a welcome show featuring the ship's entertainment program, and Latin LIVE!™, an energetic poolside celebration with live percussionists, dynamic vocalists, exciting dance performances, and the biggest Latin music hits to keep passengers dancing all night long.

Norwegian Aura begins its inaugural season from Miami
Before establishing its homeport in Miami for its inaugural season in June 2027, Norwegian Aura will sail a seven-day Mediterranean voyage from Trieste, Italy, to Barcelona, Spain, on May 21, 2027, with stops in Valletta, Malta, as well as Salerno and Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy. This will be followed by a 13-day transatlantic cruise from Barcelona to Miami, where it will begin its Caribbean cruise season departing from Miami. From June 2027 through October 2027, Norwegian Aura will sail seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruises with stops at iconic island destinations, including Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic; St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands; Tortola in the British Virgin Islands; and the brand's newly renovated private island in the Bahamas, Great Stirrup Cay, featuring the new Great Tides Waterpark. In the winter of 2027/28, Norwegian Aura will offer seven-day Western Caribbean cruises that will take passengers to lush tropical destinations such as Roatán (Bay Islands), in Honduras; Costa Maya and Cozumel, in Mexico; as well as Harvest Caye, NCL's private resort-style destination off the coast of Belize.
