Tauck presents the ms Harmonie, the new riverboat that will join its fleet in France and serve as a sister ship to the ms Lumière on the Rhône. Its design was developed, in part, based on feedback from Tauck passengers who take river cruises, and the new ship retains the key design features of the ms Lumière.
“River cruises continue to be one of the most popular ways for guests to experience Tauck for the first time, and the feedback our river cruise guests have shared over the years shapes every ship we build,” said Jennifer Tombaugh, CEO of Tauck. “The name Harmonie, which has the same meaning in both French and English, reflects what we hope our passengers will feel on board and along the river: a sense of balance, tranquility, and connection to the places we explore.”
Built specifically to cruise the Rhône, the ms Harmonie shares the same deck layout and signature spaces as the ms Lumière, with a maximum capacity of 130 passengers—up to 30% fewer than other riverboats of similar size. The Sun Deck features a pool, a full-service bar, and shaded Balinese beds for enjoying al fresco dining and afternoons by the river. On the upper Diamond Deck, a spacious wellness area called The Retreat offers a fitness center, a massage treatment room, and a lounge surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows. Arthur’s, the ship’s casual dining venue, offers panoramic views of the landscape while cruising, while the naturally lit atriums, the spacious 28 m² Tauck Suites, and the light-filled lounges incorporate design elements that passengers have come to appreciate aboard the ms Lumière.
The ms Harmonie is part of a multi-phase investment in Tauck’s river fleet, which expands the destinations and cruising options available to its passengers. Between 2026 and 2028, Tauck will add five new riverboats: the ms Lumière and the ms Serene, which debuted in 2026; the ms Reverie and the ms Saudade, which will arrive in 2027; and the ms Harmonie, in 2028. The program adds new capacity while phasing out two older vessels. The renewal goes beyond the new ships. By 2028, Tauck’s river cruise capacity will have increased by more than 50%, supported by a broader selection of off-season departures, a new six-day cruise format for passengers with limited time, and new destinations.
The Rhône has become one of Tauck’s most popular river cruise destinations, with growth of nearly 30% compared to 2025—even before the current expansion began. Sailing alongside the ms Lumière, the ms Harmonie will double Tauck’s capacity on the river, carrying passengers on highly popular itineraries such as “Savoring France: Paris, Lyon & Provence,” to which new itineraries will be added in 2028.
The price of the cruise includes all shore excursions, all gratuities, all beverages on board—including wine, beer, and spirits—airport transfers, baggage handling, taxes, fees, and other services.
Passengers can now reserve a spot, risk-free, on the 2028 itinerary and departure date of their choice. All passengers who book 2028 cruises now will have the option to cancel and receive a full refund of their deposits when the final prices and itinerary details are announced later this fall.
