Silversea has concluded its 2026 Alaska season after completing 30 voyages aboard Silver Moon and Silver Whisper, which allowed guests to immerse themselves in the region between Vancouver, British Columbia, and Seward, Alaska, from May 14 to September 3.
Sailing in both directions through the Inside Passage, these two classic ships—among the smallest cruising the region—have called at 14 destinations, from iconic ports like Juneau and Skagway to lesser-known spots such as Metlakatla and Klawock. Guests have enjoyed sailing past the Hubbard Glacier, kayaking through Sitka Sound, and ascending to the summit of White Pass aboard a private train car, among other highlights of the season, showcasing the breadth of immersive experiences offered by Silversea.

14 PORTS ALONG THE INSIDE PASSAGE
Over 30 voyages, Silver Moon and Silver Whisper have sailed seven-night itineraries between Vancouver and Seward. Guests have sailed past the Hubbard Glacier and through Icy Bay, with stops in Juneau, Ketchikan, Sitka, Skagway, Icy Strait Point, Valdez, Haines, Metlakatla, Klawock, and Whittier.
Wildlife sightings during the season have included humpback whales, orcas, brown and black bears, bald eagles, Dall sheep, and puffins. On land, several excursions have enriched each itinerary, offering guests an even closer perspective of the region
- A private train car through the White Pass: In Skagway, guests have been able to board the exclusive luxury lounge car of the White Pass & Yukon Route to ascend from sea level to the summit, with drinks included, a snack made with local produce and a private guide who recounted the history of the Klondike gold rush during the journey.
- Scenic helicopter flight and dog sledding over a glacier: In Juneau, a half-day excursion combined a scenic helicopter flight over the Juneau Icefield with a landing at a dog sledding camp located on a snow-covered glacier.
- Kayaking in Sitka Sound: Guests have explored by kayak the rugged coastline of Sitka Sound, passing distant islands and Mount Edgecumbe.
- ATV Tour of the Alaskan Interior: In Haines, an ATV tour traveled along old logging roads through the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve and surrounding wilderness areas.
- Misty Fjords by seaplane: From Ketchikan, a seaplane tour flew over the Misty Fjords National Monument, following granite cliffs, waterfalls and glacial lakes.
For those extending their journey beyond the ship, Silversea's Land Programs offered the opportunity to visit Denali National Park and travel the Alaskan rail routes before or after the cruise, seamlessly connecting with embarkation and disembarkation at the Port of Seward.
A GATEWAY DEVELOPED TOGETHER WITH THE COMMUNITY
Silversea's 2026 Alaska season has operated from the new Dale R. and Carol Ann Lindsey Alaska Railroad Terminal in Seward, developed by Alaska Railroad, Royal Caribbean Group, The Seward Company and Turnagain Marine Construction.
The terminal, which opened in June 2026, features a floating dock equipped for power supply from land and direct access to the Alaska Railroad, facilitating itineraries that combine Silversea Alaska cruises with pre- and post-cruise train travel.
Royal Caribbean Group's investment in Seward extends beyond the terminal, through its Port Partners Small Business Accelerator program, which offers financing and mentorship as part of a broader commitment to the communities that host its ships. This year, the company awarded a $20,000 grant to Exit Glacier Greenhouses, a local horticulture company seeking to expand Seward's access to fresh produce.
HEADING TOWARDS "THE LAST FRONTIER" IN 2027
Silversea is already looking ahead to the 2027 season in Alaska, with 29 trips aboard Silver Moon and Silver Whisper, running from May 27th to early September.
Several of the 2027 voyages will incorporate scenic sailing through Tracy Arm and the Sawyer Glacier, in addition to restoring stops in front of the Hubbard Glacier and in Icy Bay.
Highlights of the season include a salmon feast at Taku Lodge combined with a scenic flight over five glaciers in Juneau, a sport fishing experience in Ketchikan, and a rafting trip through Valdez's Keystone Canyon.

- SEWARD (ANCHORAGE) – VANCOUVER – JUNE 3-10, 2027: This seven-night Alaskan voyage aboard Silver Moon will travel the Inside Passage along a scenic route from Seward to Vancouver. Guests will discover glacier-sculpted landscapes and wildlife-filled waters, with stops at iconic ports such as Juneau, Ketchikan, and Skagway, plus opportunities to sail past spectacular ice formations, including the Hubbard Glacier. The voyage highlights Alaska’s wilderness and cultural heritage before concluding in Vancouver.
- VANCOUVER – SEWARD (ANCHORAGE) – AUGUST 19-26, 2027: This immersive voyage explores the Inside Passage from Vancouver to Seward, showcasing the region’s spectacular landscapes and wildlife-rich coastlines. Aboard Silver Moon, guests will sail past towering glaciers and fjords, with stops at iconic ports such as Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, and Sitka, as well as quieter destinations that allow for a deeper connection with Alaska’s nature and cultural heritage. Highlights include glacier views at areas like Hubbard Glacier and Tracy Arm, before the voyage concludes in Seward, the gateway to Alaska’s wild interior.
