Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has released its 2028 summer itinerary, featuring a strong presence in Europe and new options for discovering less-traveled destinations. Among the highlights is the debut of the Norwegian Jewel in Morocco, with inaugural calls in Casablanca and Agadir.
Norwegian Cruise Line has unveiled its 2028 summer schedule, which includes more than 450 cruises ranging from three to 14 days aboard 20 ships. The company will offer itineraries departing from 25 homeports with stops in nearly 150 destinations across 51 countries.
Europe will feature prominently in this program, with itineraries throughout the Mediterranean, Northern Europe, the British Isles, the Baltic, and the Atlantic. One of the main new additions will be Morocco to the Norwegian Jewel's itineraries , which will include stops in Casablanca and Agadir for the first time .
The Norwegian Jewel debuts in Morocco
The main new offering for the European market will be a new 12-day cruise back to Barcelona aboard the Norwegian Jewel. The itinerary will combine the Canary Islands with North Africa and will include the ship's first calls at Casablanca and Agadir.
The itinerary will also include, for the first time for NCL Jewel, stops in Arrecife, Lanzarote, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, creating a particularly interesting option for those looking to combine the Canary Islands, Morocco, and the Western Mediterranean on the same cruise.
The Jewel will also expand its presence in Europe with an 11-day repositioning cruise between Barcelona and Southampton in May 2028, while in September it will offer a new nine-day circular itinerary from Southampton.
The ship will also have a significant presence in Northern Europe and the Baltic, with seven, nine and ten day cruises between Southampton, Copenhagen and Helsinki, in addition to five itineraries departing from and returning to Copenhagen and stopping in Tallinn, Riga and Klaipeda.
More options for traveling around Europe
NCL's European rollout for summer 2028 is completed with a wide variety of itineraries.
The Norwegian Getaway will sail 10- and 11-day cruises between Southampton and Reykjavik during the midnight sun season, with stops in Norway, Iceland, Belgium, the Netherlands, and France. The itinerary also includes NCL's first-ever calls at Grundarfjörður, Iceland, and Vik, Norway.
In the Mediterranean, the Norwegian Dawn will visit Zadar, Croatia, and Cagliari, Sardinia , for the first time , as part of a series of 10- and 11-day cruises with stops in Lisbon, Barcelona, Civitavecchia (Rome) and Ravenna (Venice).
Meanwhile, the Norwegian Viva will maintain nine, ten and twelve-day itineraries between Rome, Venice, Barcelona and Istanbul, while the Norwegian Pearl will continue its seven-day cruises through the Greek islands between Ravenna and Athens.
The Norwegian Epic will offer nine- to 12-day itineraries departing from and returning to Rome, while the Norwegian Star will once again tour the British Isles and Northern Europe, with stops in Belfast, Edinburgh and Invergordon.
A European program with more time at the destination
Overall, NCL has designed a summer season that aims to reduce sailing time and increase port calls. According to the company, nearly 80% of its cruise time will be spent in port, with 175 overnight calls or late departures in 53 destinations. These include Santorini and Livorno, as well as Juneau, Alaska.
The 2028 schedule thus confirms the importance that Norwegian Cruise Line continues to place on Europe, while adding new destinations to its offering.
