Silversea launches a new collection of seven S.A.L.T. culinary voyages

Silversea has unveiled its first collection of S.A.L.T. (Sea And Land Taste) Culinary Voyages, a series of itineraries designed to explore each destination through its cuisine, its flavors, and the people who make them unique.

Silversea launches a new collection of seven S.A.L.T. culinary voyagesEach trip revolves around four concepts: Gather (Share), Craft (Create), Celebrate (Celebrate), and Indulge (Enjoy), connecting travelers with the ingredients, traditions, and culture of each region through immersive experiences.

The collection will debut with seven cruises aboard the Silver Dawn and Silver Spirit, which will sail through Portugal, Spain, France, and the United Kingdom during the European grape harvest season.

Each itinerary will combine an expanded culinary program on board with exclusive S.A.L.T. experiences ashore, such as private sessions on making Port wine in the Douro Valley, lunches led by Michelin-starred chefs, truffle hunts at historic French castles, and many other activities.

“With this new collection of S.A.L.T. culinary voyages, we are strengthening our position as a leader among small-ship cruise lines in the realm of culinary experiences, offering our guests direct access to the people and places that define each region’s culinary culture,” explained Bert Hernandez, president of Silversea.

“We’re talking about experiences as exclusive as cooking alongside a countess in northern Portugal or learning family recipes from a chef in her own home in Normandy. These are experiences that would be impossible to organize on your own, and that privileged access is precisely what sets this collection apart.”

S.A.L.T. Culinary Voyages will bring guests closer to the culinary essence of each destination through itineraries designed around the seasons and led by chefs, sommeliers, local experts, and mixologists. To celebrate the grape harvest, all cruises will feature a special program of culinary activities, including:

  • Iberia’s Autumn Bounty, a nine-course dinner at La Dame restaurant, featuring the fall flavors of Portugal and northern Spain, paired with a selection of wines.
  • Wine tasting featuring wines from the European Atlantic coast, led by the ship's sommelier.
  • Premium Bordeaux wine tasting, led by the head sommelier.
  • Tasting of premium champagnes, comparing prestigious houses with small producers.
  • Cognac and Armagnac Tasting, led by the S.A.L.T. Bar team.
  • Cocktail masterclass at the S.A.L.T. Bar, where guests will create cocktails inspired by the grape harvest season.

  • French cheese and wine tasting, led by the head sommelier.
  • "Autumn Forest Treasures," an exclusive six-course lunch at La Dame featuring wild ingredients such as mushrooms and fresh truffles.

The wine harvest theme will be a constant feature throughout the trip, from the welcome cocktail with caviar tasting on the day of boarding to a grand fall brunch and a special harvest-inspired appetizer.
