Holland America Line has unveiled four new shows for the World Stage theater on its ship Oosterdam, enhancing its award-winning onboard entertainment lineup with original productions developed in collaboration with RWS Global, a global leader in live entertainment experiences, and the iconic Rolling Stone brand.
The big news is “Holland America Line and Rolling Stone Present, All Access: The Songs That Shaped Us,” a rock show created jointly by RWS Global and Rolling Stone that pays tribute to some of the genre’s most legendary bands and artists. The premiere follows the success of the Rolling Stone Lounge, which is already featured on most of the company’s ships.
“We’ve listened to our guests, who were asking for more visually stunning productions, with extraordinary music and memorable performances, and these four new shows meet those expectations exactly,” said Joe Chantry, vice president of Entertainment and Enrichment at Holland America Line.
"Together with our creative partners at RWS Global and Rolling Stone, we have developed a bold, immersive program that truly embodies the spirit of Holland America Line, giving our guests even more reasons to enjoy the World Stage every night."
Four new exclusive productions
Following its successful premiere on the Koningsdam, the show “Fosse and Verdon, The Duet That Changed Broadway” is now also part of the Oosterdam’s lineup. Rounding out the lineup are the new productions “Decadence” and “Disco Fever,” which are already being performed on board.
For Craig Laurie, creative director at RWS Global, the collaboration with Rolling Stone marks another step in the evolution of the cruise line's entertainment offerings.
“The new show capitalizes on the immense prestige of one of the world’s most iconic music brands to create an unforgettable experience for Holland America Line guests. The extraordinary success of the Rolling Stone Lounge proves that passengers are looking for authentic experiences inspired by major brands and steeped in nostalgia. Building on that popular experience, we’ve created a full-scale theatrical production featuring singers, dancers, and the Rolling Stone Lounge band.”
For his part, Julian Holguin, CEO of Rolling Stone, noted:“Rolling Stone has always celebrated the songs and artists that stir emotions, connect people, and create memories. This collaboration with Holland America Line brings that spirit to life in an innovative and immersive way. We’re thrilled to build on the success of the Rolling Stone Lounge with a new live experience that preserves the essence of Rolling Stone and is a perfect fit for travelers who want to experience music in a special way.”
– “All Access: The Songs That Shaped Us”
The highlight of the new lineup celebrates some of the biggest names in rock history, featuring songs by artists such as The Eagles, Janis Joplin, Van Halen, and Fleetwood Mac.
This is a high-energy concert that combines live music, dynamic choreography, and a meticulously crafted stage production to pay tribute to some of rock's greatest hits.
– “Decadence”
A production that blends music, dance, and visual effects, drawing inspiration from the glamour of Las Vegas, the sophistication of New York, and the splendor of classic Hollywood.
Great musical hits accompany spectacular stage design featuring dancers and a high-impact production.
-“Disco Fever”
A trip back to the golden age of disco with classics like “Le Freak,” “It’s Raining Men,” and “I Love the Nightlife.”
The show transforms the stage into a huge dance floor filled with light, rhythm, and energy, reinterpreting the hits of the 1970s with a contemporary aesthetic.
-“Fosse and Verdon: The Duet That Changed Broadway”
Created in collaboration with The Verdon Fosse Legacy®, this show traces the careers of two of Broadway's most influential figures: Bob Fosse and Gwen Verdon.
The production features original choreography, as well as previously unseen audio and video archival footage, covering such iconic musicals as *Damn Yankees*, *Sweet Charity*, *Cabaret*, and *Chicago*.
One of the critics who attended the premiere went so far as to call it “the best show I’ve ever seen on a cruise ship.”
The four shows are now part of the Oosterdam's lineup, and bookings for this fall's sailings are now available.
