Holland America Line will expand opportunities for its passengers to discover the spectacular landscapes of the Norwegian fjords in 2027 by updating five cruises aboard the Rotterdam to include stops in Flåm and Hellesylt. These additions provide greater access to some of Norway’s most sought-after fjord destinations, including the Nærøyfjord—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and the Storfjorden, the gateway to the Geirangerfjord.
UNESCO considers the Geirangerfjord and Nærøyfjord regions to be “some of the most scenically beautiful fjord areas on the planet,” allowing travelers to enjoy two of Norway’s most iconic natural sites.
The new itineraries are now open for booking and will be available on five seven-day cruises aboard the Rotterdam.
Three departures—May 30, June 27, and August 1, 2027—combine some of Norway’s most popular cities with its spectacular fjord landscapes, including stops in Oslo, Kristiansand, Sandnes (Stavanger), and Flåm, as well as scenic cruises through the Sognefjord and the Oslofjord.
The departures on July 25 and August 8, 2027, will allow you to explore the heart of the Norwegian fjord region with visits to Eidfjord, Hellesylt, Ålesund, and Bergen, along with scenic cruises through the Hardangerfjord and the Storfjorden.
"Northern Europe remains one of the most popular regions in our itinerary, and cruising through the fjords is among the experiences most sought after by our passengers," said Paul Grigsby, vice president of deployment and revenue planning at Holland America Line.
“By adding Flåm and Hellesylt to these itineraries, we’re offering even more opportunities to discover the breathtaking landscapes, rich history, and unforgettable scenery that make this part of the world so special. From cruising through the Nærøyfjord—a UNESCO World Heritage Site—and riding the iconic Flåmsbana railway through the Norwegian mountains, to exploring the spectacular waterfalls and viewpoints of the Storfjorden region, these new additions bring our guests closer to some of the country’s most extraordinary experiences.”
Northern Europe remains one of Holland America Line’s signature destinations and a region closely tied to the company’s history. Founded in Rotterdam in 1873, the cruise line brings more than 150 years of experience and European tradition to this itinerary.
In 2027, the company will deploy three ships—the Rotterdam, the Nieuw Statendam, and the Zuiderdam—to Northern Europe, offering travelers a wide variety of itineraries to explore Norway, Iceland, Greenland, the British Isles, Scandinavia, and the Baltic Sea.
Passengers will be able to choose between seven-day cruises and trips lasting up to 21 days, with the opportunity to sail through the famous Norwegian fjords, visit historic capitals, and explore numerous destinations in Northern Europe. Whether discovering the Viking legacy, taking in spectacular natural landscapes, or enjoying the company’s Dutch roots, travelers will find a wide range of immersive experiences throughout the season.
