The Porto Cruise Terminal (Port of Leixões) reached a new milestone in its cruise activity at the end of October 2025, registering 216,644 passengers, an increase of almost 30% compared to the same period in 2024 and the best result in its history. For the first time, the terminal has exceeded the annual figure of 200,000 passengers, seven years after reaching 100,000 in 2018.
At the end of November, the number of cruise passengers reached 223,603, representing an 18% increase compared to the same period last year. Through November, the Porto Cruise Terminal recorded 145 port calls, matching the previous year's figure, and inaugurated 13 maiden calls.
During the same period, 12 turnaround operations were carried out, five of them with approximately 5,000 passengers each. The number of passengers embarking and disembarking surged to almost 24,000, compared to 2,121 the previous year.
The size of the ships that called at the Port of Leixões also increased: the total gross tonnage (GT) reached 9.4 million, 9% more than in 2024.
British passengers were again the most numerous, closely followed by Germans and those from the United States.
The year-end figures point to 148 cruise ship calls and a new annual record of around 225,000 passengers.
These data confirm the growing attractiveness of Porto and the Northern Region of Portugal in the cruise sector and reinforce the confidence of the main international shipping companies in the Port of Leixões and the Porto Cruise Terminal.
