Regent Seven Seas Cruises celebrated a momentous milestone in the construction of the Seven Seas Prestige when the ship left dry dock and touched the water for the first time. As the first new class of ships for Regent in 10 years, the Seven Seas Prestige will usher in a new legacy in ultra-luxury cruising.
“Seeing Seven Seas Prestige touch the water for the first time marks an extraordinary moment for Regent Seven Seas Cruises, and represents the culmination of years of planning and collaboration with our long-standing partners at Fincantieri,” said Jason Montague, Chief Luxury Officer of Regent Seven Seas Cruises. “The overwhelming response to this ship confirms that discerning travelers recognize that something truly exceptional is on the horizon; proof of this is that its launch day became the highest booking day for a new ship in our history. From the all-new Skyview Regent Suite to every meticulously designed detail, Seven Seas Prestige embodies our dedication to redefining ultra-luxury travel.”.
The float-out ceremony took place at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy. Brunetta Casara of Fincantieri acted as godmother, performing the traditional breaking of the champagne bottle against the hull and cutting the ceremonial ribbon after a blessing from the shipyard chaplain. The dry dock was then flooded, officially completing this milestone. Marco Spiga, Senior Director, Project Manager of Regent Seven Seas Cruises, addressed the attendees and expressed his gratitude to Fincantieri for their continued collaboration in making the Seven Seas Prestige a reality.
With this significant phase completed, the next-generation ship will now move to the outfitting pier for the final stages of construction, where designers will install the luxurious suites — including the Skyview Regent Suite, the largest ultra-luxury all-inclusive suite in cruise history — along with elegant lounges and exquisite restaurants that will define the unparalleled experience aboard the Seven Seas Prestige.
With its debut slated for December 2026 as Regent's seventh ship and the first of three vessels in the new Prestige class, Seven Seas Prestige is the most anticipated addition to The World's Most Luxurious Fleet®. This pivotal moment marks the beginning of an ambitious new chapter for Regent, with a second Prestige-class ship confirmed for 2030 and a third announced for 2033—a strategic expansion that will provide discerning travelers with even more opportunities to experience the pleasures of ultra-luxury cruising in over 550 destinations worldwide.
At 77,000 tons and with a capacity for only 822 guests, served by 630 crew members, Seven Seas Prestige will offer one of the highest crew-to-guest ratios in the industry — 40% larger than previous Regent ships, but with only 10% more guests — truly delivering Unrivaled Space at Sea® .
During its inaugural season, Seven Seas Prestige will sail 13 extraordinary voyages to Europe and the Caribbean, including two transatlantic crossings. These carefully curated itineraries, ranging from 10 to 15 nights, will showcase exceptional destinations and immersive experiences: from Regent's private island paradise, Harvest Caye, Belize, to two Panama Canal crossings and overnight stays in culturally rich cities such as London (England), Lisbon (Portugal), and Bordeaux (France).
