Cruise Tours Benelux, a new associate member of Cruise Europe, was established as a private company in early 2019. With 10 office employees and 15 field staff, it operates primarily in the Netherlands and Belgium, managing approximately 30 ocean cruise calls and hundreds of river cruise calls annually.
The owner and CEO, Claudia Luisini, has experience in the ocean cruise sector, having previously worked for a global destination management company, where she collaborated with numerous shipping companies.
The company offers all the usual services: from pre- and post-cruise extensions, transfers and turnaround assistance, to shore excursions.
Luisini commented: “We joined Cruise Europe to gain greater visibility in the ocean cruise industry. We are very interested in expanding this segment of our business, as we have achieved good results in the river cruise sector.”
One of the challenges Cruise Tours Benelux (CTB) faces in the Netherlands is the combination of mass tourism on the one hand, and a shortage of services on the other.
Luisini notes that CTB is addressing this situation in collaboration with its clients and subcontractors, seeking the best ways to optimize services. For example, by offering multiple departure times for excursions and organizing two walking tours instead of one during a half-day stopover.
