The Disney Adventure, Disney Cruise Line's new flagship, officially left the construction hangar at the Meyer Werft shipyard in Wismar, Germany, on Saturday, April 19, 2025, and touched the water for the first time, marking the completion of the hull construction and the start of exterior deck work, as well as the development of the interiors.
The ceremony was attended by the city's mayor, Thomas Beyer, and Minister Manuela Schwesig, as well as Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, who were present at this ceremony, since these two characters will be the emblematic figures of the ship, decorating the sculpture on the stern and will be present on every voyage.
And as you would expect from Disney, the moment was accompanied by a fireworks display from the hangar roof as the Disney Adventure slowly rolled out of the shipyard.
While the hull is complete, the ship's upper and exterior decks are still being finalized. Soon, all the attractions that will delight guests will be installed, including water slides and the first roller coaster on a Disney cruise ship, called Ironcycle Test Run, among other exciting experiences.
Once the ship's critical systems are installed, sea trials will be conducted in the Baltic Sea to evaluate all of the ship's systems: navigation, propulsion, emergency response, and more. After this crucial stage is completed, the ship's interior details will be finalized, and it will be officially delivered to Disney Cruise Line a few weeks before its debut.
Finally, the Disney Adventure will set sail for its home port of Singapore, where it will be greeted with great enthusiasm and celebrations. This 208,000-gross-ton ship – the largest ever built for Disney Cruise Line – will embark on its maiden voyage on December 15, 2025, a three-night journey filled with Disney adventures and magic.
The Disney Adventure will offer 3- and 4-night "no destination" cruises from Lion City, Singapore. The ship itself will be a destination, with seven themed zones that will immerse guests in their favorite Disney worlds.
