Although the Scarlet Lady will always be the First Lady of the Virgin Voyages, the ship is undergoing an epic renovation this fall, increasing the number of suites, introducing a new Vibey restaurant concept, and adding bar and lounge spaces.
Virgin Voyages' first ship will head to dry dock from November 14-28 after its first seasons sailing on the high seas.
“Since her highly anticipated debut in 2021, Scarlet Lady has sailed the world, welcoming hundreds of tourists while offering irresistible vacations,” said Nicole Huang, VP of Fleet Experience. “We are listening and giving travelers more of what they’ve asked for. This includes more suites, luxurious new cabins, and vibrant new dining concepts so passengers can truly live the rock star life.”.
The brand's flagship is reimagining a couple of its restaurants. Razzle Dazzle, admired for its vegetarian brunch and bold interiors, will introduce a new concept with an enhanced ambiance that comes alive at night. Following the huge success of its Asian nightlife market, "Lucky Lotus by Razzle Dazzle" will feature a daring Chinese-inspired menu paired with delicious handcrafted cocktails. Along with a distinctive design that swaps communal tables for intimate and inviting booths, Scarlet's expanded space offers a culinary haven at sea.
In response to overwhelming demand for suites aboard the Lady Ships, several Sea Terrace staterooms on Deck 11 are being converted to create 24 RockStar "Seriously Suite" staterooms. The most popular of the suites, Virgin Voyages' Seriously Suites measure 352 square feet and feature a king bed, peek-a-boo shower, glamorous vanity, in-room record and vinyl collection, a stocked bar, and the brand's signature Yellow Leaf hammock.
“We wanted to give our sailors a taste of the rockstar life and worked with Tom Dixon to design the 78 RockStar and Mega RockStar Quarters. They did an incredible job and there’s a lot of demand. We’re responding in a big way by adding suites so more people can live their best life,” Huang added.
The glamour isn't confined to the interiors of the Scarlet. On deck, VIP cabanas flanked by white curtains and luxurious sun loungers overlooking the Aquatic Club offer a front-row view for anyone looking to indulge. The six cabanas can be booked individually or connected for larger group celebrations.
Ground Club Too, the coveted café bar at The Galley (Virgin Voyages' trendy food hall), will continue serving Intelligentsia coffee to liven up sailors' days, but at night, it will transform into a full-service bar with an intimate atmosphere and top-notch cocktails. Counter seating, elegant emerald benches, rust-colored sofas, and wood-slat details will take it from an energetic breakfast café to a sophisticated nightclub.
At The Wake, a glamorous steak and seafood restaurant designed by Roman and Williams, the bar has become a nighttime meeting place.
The ship's non-smoking casino will be expanded with slot machines and exclusive spaces for high rollers.
Redemption Spa – a charming hideaway for Syrian mermaids and men, offering everything from hot mineral and bamboo massages to vitamin facials for couples. The current Thermal Suite, complete with large porthole windows, heated quartz beds, a steam mud room, sauna, and salt room, remains unchanged.
Finally, the Scarlet Lady will debut a new siren on its bow, a symbol of strength and a sure step for the maritime brand.
Once the ship has completed all its renovations, it will make the 16-night transatlantic crossing from Rome to Miami before embarking on a series of longer Caribbean voyages. The six-night "Western Caribbean" and eight-night "Eastern Caribbean Antilles" voyages explore the tropical Caribbean waters of destinations such as St. Croix, Costa Maya, Roatán, San Juan, Puerto Plata, and Bimini. Each voyage aboard the refurbished Scarlet Lady includes a stop at Virgin Voyages' Beach Club in the Bahamas, famous for its white sands, free-form pools, swaying palm trees, and epic parties.
