Both sectors are increasingly strengthening their Corporate Social Responsibility policies, generating quality jobs with equal opportunities and diversity. Both cruise ships and yachts require supporting infrastructure in ports and marinas to meet the most advanced environmental and sustainability objectives.

The organizers of this event are Port Castelló and Fundación Port Castelló, with sponsorship from Diputació Castelló, the Castelló City Council, Castelló Turismo, and Simetría. The event, developed by CruisesNews Media Group and AWP Services, will take place from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the SALA MOLL DE COSTA, Edificio Puerto Azahar, Paseo Buenavista, s/n, and is aimed at and open to tourism professionals in general, business owners, travel agencies, the port community, students, media representatives, and companies or individuals interested in these sectors.

Cruise roundtable

In their journey towards achieving their environmental and sustainability goals, both cruise ships and mega yachts require support infrastructure in ports and marinas.

The cruise industry maintains an unequivocal commitment to complying with international environmental regulations and supporting policies and practices that promote a safe and sustainable economic and social impact.

The blue economy seeks to promote economic growth, social inclusion and the preservation of livelihoods while ensuring the sustainability of oceans and coastal areas.

Among the topics to be addressed by leading cruise industry executives will be employment in the sector, with the participation of Crew Mc, a Spanish company specializing in cruise ship recruitment. The Port Authority of A Coruña will also participate in the event as a well-established port of call, and cruise lines such as Crystal Cruises, Explora Journeys, and Alma Cruceros will present their technical and social advancements toward greater sustainability. Other companies supplying this industry will reveal their key strategies for the development of this sector.

Recreational Boating

Our marinas and recreational boating place our coasts among the most attractive and sustainable in Europe, with a significant economic and social impact at the local level.

The general situation of the nautical sector, as well as the economic impact and the revitalization of the industrial fabric in the territory thanks to the new professions associated with the auxiliary industry, will be some of the aspects that will be addressed in the round table on recreational boating.

In short, its socio-economic impact and employability are largely unknown to the public and will be addressed in a round table with leading professionals in the sector.

Finally, Arantxa Miralles, Councillor for Tourism of the Castellón City Council; Israel Martínez, Director General of Tourism GVA; and Begoña Carrasco, the Honorable Mayor of Castellón, will bring the event to a close.
