Norwegian Cruise Line® (NCL) has just announced that the Norwegian Encore® will undergo major upgrades to deliver elevated onboard experiences, including a new Spice H2O; the expansion of two popular restaurants, Cagney's Steakhouse and Teppanyaki; redesigned suites at The Haven by Norwegian®; and 24 new balcony staterooms.
Following the Norwegian Encore's two-week dry dock from November 18 to December 2, 2024, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a brand-new Spice H2O, the complimentary adults-only outdoor area located away from the main deck pool. Replacing the laser tag arena, the space will feature a new design and exceptional layout created by NCL's longtime design partner, Studio Dado. This will combine guest-favorite amenities from the Breakaway-Plus Class's Spice H2O with those of the Infinity Beach on the latest Prima Class ships. Equipped with multiple whirlpool tubs, eight large daybeds surrounded by refreshing plunge pools, and an incredible bar serving a wide variety of delicious cocktails, Spice H2O will be the perfect outdoor oasis for guests 18 and older seeking a relaxing escape.
The enhancements will also include the expansion of two of the Company’s most popular specialty restaurants, giving guests what they love most. Cagney’s Steakhouse, which recently won the 2024 Wine Spectator Award of Excellence for its wine program, and Teppanyaki, the hibachi-style restaurant, will soon be able to offer greater capacity by taking over the space formerly occupied by Los Lobos on Deck Eight and Coco’s on Deck Six. In addition, Ocean Blue will be rebranded as the guest favorite Palomar, featuring high-quality Mediterranean cuisine.

As a result of the growing demand for three-bedroom suites aboard Norwegian Prima®, Norwegian Viva®, and Norwegian Joy®, the Premier Owner Suites with a Grand Balcony on Norwegian Encore at The Haven by Norwegian® will be expanded from two bedrooms to three. These two suites will also include three and a half bathrooms, a living room, a master bedroom, and completely refurbished exterior balcony furnishings, as well as a new separate dining area. The Haven by Norwegian® is the company’s exclusive “ship within a ship,” a resort accessible only with a special card, offering exclusive experiences such as concierge service, a private pool area, a restaurant, and a bar. Similar to the recent refurbishment of Norwegian Joy earlier this year, Norwegian Encore will also debut 24 new balcony staterooms and two club balcony staterooms by repurposing a portion of the ship’s Observation Lounge.
These enhancements perfectly complement the ship's existing family offerings, such as the Encore Speedway®, an exciting 335-meter-long racing circuit; the Aqua Park, with two multi-story water slides; and the Galaxy Pavilion, NCL's virtual reality complex.
Once the ship completes its two-week dry dock, the Norwegian Encore will embark on a 12-day transatlantic voyage from Southampton, UK, to Miami, followed by seven-day round-trip Caribbean cruises through March 2025, with stops in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic; Tortola, British Virgin Islands; St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands; and Great Stirrup Cay, NCL’s private island in the Bahamas. Starting in summer 2025, the Norwegian Encore will offer seven-day round-trip Alaskan cruises from Seattle, where guests can experience the lush landscapes and abundant wildlife of the Last Frontier.
