Nearly 800 people lined the shore of Jetty Park in Port Canaveral on Friday to bid farewell to Utopia of the Seas , which was embarking on its maiden voyage from Port Canaveral.
The “The World's Biggest Wave Out” party was organized by the Port so that the local community, campsite guests and beach lovers could enjoy a festive and family-friendly afternoon with a DJ.
Last Friday's cruise ship departure delighted the park's crowds with a special parade of ships, including Carnival Cruise Line's Glory, Royal Caribbean's Adventure of the Seas, and Disney Cruise Line's Wish.
The Utopia of the Seas was driven out of the harbor by the Brevard County Sheriff's Marine Unit, Canaveral Fire Rescue's Fireboat 2 with its water cannon deployment, and flanked by two of the port's resident tugs, EN Bisso & Sons Towing's Christine S and Marine Towing of Port Canaveral's St. Johns.
