AIDA Cruises has confirmed the refurbishment schedule for two more ships in its fleet, the AIDAluna and the AIDAbella, in its Evolution Drydock program.
These renovations are part of AIDA's Evolution Drydock program, which was announced earlier this year as the largest fleet modernization initiative in the company's history.
Three of the Sphinx-class ships will be extensively modernized before 2026 as part of the renewal program.
The first ship to undergo the refurbishment will be the AIDAdiva, which will enter the Chantier Naval shipyard in Marseille (France) from February 3 to March 22, 2025.
Dry dock periods have also been scheduled for the next two ships: the AIDAluna will be in the shipyard from October 22 to December 10, 2025, followed by the AIDAbella from January 21 to March 11, 2026.
During the seven-week dry dock overhaul, AIDA will focus on updating the ship's technology and increasing the variety of experiences, services, and comfort available on board.
These ships, which entered service between 2007 and 2009, will also be equipped with the latest generation of AIDA concepts.
All guest cabins will receive a new look, according to the company, and the number of suites will even be increased.
Other changes include the addition of new restaurants, signature bars, and activity areas for families with children.
The Theatrium, AIDA's unique combination of atrium and theater, will be redesigned with new seating and a new color scheme.
According to AIDA, when first introduced, the seven Sphinx-class ships significantly shaped the company's onboard experience.
In addition to the AIDAluna, the AIDAbella and the AIDAdiva, the series also includes the AIDAsol, built in 2010, the AIDAmar, built in 2012, and the AIDAstella, built in 2013.
