We visited the Disney Dream on one of its first stops in Barcelona.
This summer it will remain in Europe, offering varied itineraries that include visits to destinations in the Eastern and Western Mediterranean, as well as the Norwegian Fjords and Northern Europe.
A varied program with cruises such as "Dazzling Mediterranean", an 8-day cruise departing from Barcelona and visiting Sicily, Naples, Rome or Florence in Italy; "Northern Europe, Land of Elsa and Anna", a 13-day trip departing from Southampton and visiting Stavanger (Norway), Olden (Norway), Alesund (Norway), Reykjavik (Iceland), Reykjavik (Iceland), Isafjord (Iceland); 4 or 5-day mini-cruises from Southampton; or the "Charm of the British Isles" cruise in 8 days, with stops in Greenock, Liverpool, Cork, Portland and Southampton; among others.
After the summer in Europe, it will sail to the United States in October to offer four, five or six day cruises from Fort Lauderdale to the Bahamas, visiting American destinations such as Nassau, or Cozumel in Mexico, but also the jewels of Disney's Private Islands, Castaway Cay and Lighthouse Point, the latter recently inaugurated in June 2024.
The Disney Dream is the third ship in the Disney fleet, launched in January 2011, and has a capacity for 4,000 passengers. It features 14 decks and a stylish, classic design, typical of the Disney brand, combined with state-of-the-art technology. A blend of timeless beauty and modern luxury that is sure to impress.
But the multitude of dining options at its six restaurants is equally impressive: Animator's Palate, with its dinner show featuring Disney Characters on screens; the Enchanted Garden, inspired by the gardens of Versailles; the Royal Palace, inspired by classic princess films; and the Cabanas, with a wide variety of delicious sweet and savory choices. Passengers can rotate through a different restaurant each dinner, accompanied by the same staff. In addition, there are two adults-only restaurants: Palo, specializing in Italian cuisine, and Remy, with its French style, where you can spot Ratatouille watching over the entrance lamp.
The ship has 12 bars/cafés, including the Cove Cafe, the Preludes snack bar, the Bon Voyage bar, the Currents bar, the 687 pub for sports fans, the Pink champagne bar, the Skyline, the Vista cafe and the Waves bar, for having a drink while watching the sunset.
Not forgetting the entertainment, with incredible shows for all ages like Beauty and the Beast or the Pirates of the Caribbean deck party; four pools: Donald Duck's Pool, Mickey's Kids' Pool, Nemo's Reef for the little ones, and Quiet Cove for those over 18; the AquaDuck water coaster; screenings of classic Disney movies and new releases; the ice cream shop; the artwork in the hallways that comes to life when passengers approach; the toy and souvenir shops with different themes and exclusive spaces for teenagers, or the nursery for children from 3 months to 3 years old; the welcome from Disney Characters upon boarding and encounters with them throughout the trip; the adults-only areas; and many more details that make a cruise aboard the Disney Dream a truly unforgettable family experience.
The cabins aboard the Disney Dream are specially designed for families with children and are very spacious, although there are different options such as the 82 m² Royal Suites, Concierge Suites, Deluxe Balcony Cabins, Interior Cabins with an interactive porthole with real-time images, etc. All of them have ample storage space and many have double bathrooms, perfect for family trips.
Every detail on board bears the Disney stamp, but it's not just for children and young people; it's also designed for adults who can enjoy their time having a cocktail at one of its bars, savoring a delicious dinner in its restaurants, drinking a glass of champagne and dancing in the disco or playing in the casino, among other options.
In addition to enjoying the various destinations visited during the trip through excursions or "Port Adventures," whether exploring underwater worlds or discovering the traditions of another culture, both on land and at sea, these vacations promise to be magical and unforgettable.
