81.4% of cruise passengers who stop at the port of A Coruña say they are satisfied with their experience, according to data collected by the "Rate Now" device, which is installed in the passenger terminal.
According to the results obtained, only 11% declared that they were not satisfied with A Coruña, while the remaining 7.6% declared themselves neutral.
These surveys also reveal that 64% of cruise passengers report having visited the city, either through organized excursions or on their own. The services they use most during their stay in A Coruña are hotels and restaurants, followed by cultural centers, shops, and leisure and entertainment activities.
The vast majority, over 80%, highly value their visit to A Coruña and the service they received at the cruise terminal in terms of the information provided and the speed of passenger control.
The data regarding their spending is also very significant. Over 60% reported spending more than €25 in the city, with 18% spending over €150 on services used in A Coruña and 16% spending between €50 and €75.
Cruise ship traffic is the main way foreign tourists arrive in A Coruña. In 2023, the port surpassed all previous records with 130 ships calling and 323,273 passengers, and forecasts for 2024 indicate that it will exceed 150 calls and 350,000 passengers.
With these figures, the port of A Coruña consolidates its position as one of the leading ports in Spain in the sector, and reinforces its leadership throughout the Cantabrian-Atlantic coast.
The economic return for the city is estimated to exceed 25 million euros, taking into account not only the direct spending of cruise passengers, but also the impact on port companies, shipping agents, supplies, transport services, etc.
In order to boost the competitiveness of the port of A Coruña, the Port Authority has already launched the process to install the electrical power supply system for cruise ships at the Transatlantic dock, so that they can turn off their auxiliary engines during their stopover, in line with the industry's commitment to sustainability.
