Cruise and tourism industry expert Nicky Guerrero joins the organizing team of the International Cruise Summit as conference director.
Nicky Guerrero, who was in charge of the General Secretariat of MedCruise during 2023 and who has built a great international reputation in the tourism and cruise industry after 24 years in the Gibraltar tourism board, has been appointed new conference director of the International Cruise Summit, the prestigious cruise congress organized every year by Cruises News Media Group in Madrid.
Last November, at the most recent ICS, David Selby announced that this would be his last year leading the event. The search then began for a professional up to the challenge, culminating in the appointment of Guerrero as conference director.

Guerrero has already served as a moderator at both the ICS and other industry events organized by MedCruise and Seatrade, in addition to having represented Gibraltar at these events for the past 25 years.

A life dedicated to tourism and cruises
Nicky was born and raised in the British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar. She studied in Gibraltar and at the University of Brighton in the UK.
During his career he has worked in the hotel, hospitality and tourism industry, and in 1997 he joined Gibraltar Tourist Board, where he assumed the roles of Product Manager and Sales and Marketing Manager.
During the second part of his work there, he served as CEO, before retiring from the position after 24 years on the board in 2021.
He was also director of events and collaborations on the board of directors of MedCruise, the Mediterranean cruise port association, where he eventually became secretary general in 2023.
Nicky is well-known and respected throughout the cruise, airline, and tourism industries at all levels. He is currently an independent consultant specializing in cruises, airlines, marketing, and communications, and has extensive experience in event management.
International Cruise Summit
The International Cruise Summit is Europe's leading cruise conference, the only global knowledge forum on the worldwide cruise industry held annually in Europe. It's a rich combination of presentations, panels, quizzes, networking, and social events, all packed into a day and a half.
The next edition will be held on November 12 and 13, 2024 in Madrid.
