The Celestyal Crystal departed from Piraeus on August 26 on its farewell cruise for Celestyal Cruises, as it will be replaced by the Celestyal Journey on September 2.
The ship, built in 1980, began its season in early March, making the Idyllic Aegean itinerary, a 7-night cruise that visits destinations in Greece and Turkey such as Thessaloniki, Kusadasi, Heraklion, Rhodes, Santorini, Mykonos and Milos.
From September 2nd, the new Celestyal Journey will be the one to make this itinerary and will continue in autumn with 7-night cruises such as the 3 Continents from October 21st, which visits Egypt, Israel, Cyprus, Greece and Turkey; or the Steps of Paul, with visits in Greece and Turkey to Athens, Thessaloniki, Kavala, Istanbul, Dikili, Kuşadası and Patmos.
In 2007, the ship, with a capacity for 950 passengers, was acquired by Louis Cruise Lines, which in 2014 changed its name to Celestyal Cruises, also offering cruises in the Caribbean.
Offering a traditional cruise experience, the Crystal features a number of public areas including a pool deck, a spa, a theater, a casino, three restaurants, and several bars and lounges.
