The city of Cádiz has begun August with a flurry of activity at its port thanks to the arrival of three cruise ships bringing approximately 14,000 tourists. This follows a similar event last month, when, in the middle of the off-season, the Port of Cádiz surprised everyone with the arrival of three other vessels.
This month, it's the Britannia, with 3,935 passengers; the Sky Princess, with 3,987; and the MSC Virtuosa, with 5,975 people on board.
Cadiz has recently been revealed as the favorite European "hidden gem" for UK cruise passengers, according to a survey conducted by one of the largest specialist travel agencies, cruise.co.uk, in which more than 700 people who have spent their holidays at sea participated, and have corroborated that the city of Cadiz is very attractive for this type of trip.
A total of 24 port calls are scheduled for this August; in the first six months of the year, 142 calls have been made, representing a 15.4% increase compared to the same period last year. Regarding passenger numbers, the city has received 234,796 tourists, almost double the figure for the first half of last year.
