Cristina Levis, CEO of Crystal Cruises and Abercrombie & Kent Travel Group , announced last Friday aboard the Crystal Serenity that the brand is working on signing a memorandum of understanding with two European shipyards to build four new ships: two classic cruise ships and two expedition ships.
The announcement was made at a press conference last Friday aboard the pre-inaugural cruise ship Crystal Serenity.
During the presentation, Levis stated: “Wehave ambitious growth plans for Crystal and are proud of what we have achieved with the relaunch of the Crystal Serenity and the Crystal Symphony in less than a year since acquiring the brand. We are pleased to officially announce that we will be expanding our fleet and continuing to offer the most exceptional cruise experiences in the industry.”
On July 31, Crystal Serenity will set sail from Marseille on its maiden voyage after extensive refurbishment. Crystal Serenity's sister ship, Crystal Symphony, will depart from Athens on September 1 for its inaugural voyage.
