MSC Cruises has officially launched MSC Euribia, its new and highly anticipated flagship, a ship boasting the most energy-efficient cruise ship design ever. The christening ceremony took place last night in Copenhagen harbor, a tribute to the city's traditional maritime heritage, and was hosted by renowned Danish television presenter, actress, and model Sarah Grünewald.
This cruise ship is the second in the MSC Cruises fleet powered by LNG, the cleanest marine fuel currently available on a commercial scale. Onboard, it features best-in-class environmental technology, including advanced wastewater treatment and waste management systems. It has also been designed with the future in mind, allowing for the easy integration of sustainability innovations, such as carbon-neutral synthetic fuels and other alternative fuels, as soon as they become available.
The ceremony last night was attended by distinguished guests from around the world, key travel agents and international media, as well as senior executives from MSC Cruises and its parent company, the MSC Group.
The godmother of the MSC Cruises fleet and world-renowned screen legend, Sophia Loren, also attended to officially inaugurate the ship, continuing her long and close relationship with MSC Cruises.
The occasion included live entertainment and speeches combined with the important maritime tradition of cutting the ribbon and breaking a bottle of champagne over the bow of the ship. Guests also enjoyed a gourmet gala dinner and unforgettable performances, including a spectacular DJ set by Bob Sinclar, the internationally renowned French DJ and record producer, which closed the evening.

MSC Euribia begins sailing through Northern Europe this summer with 7-night voyages from Kiel (Germany) and Copenhagen (Denmark) to the captivating Norwegian Fjords, including Geiranger, Ålesund and Flaam.
