The third and largest ship in Swan Hellenic's elegant polar-class fleet is now heading to the Mediterranean, where cultural expedition cruises began.
Swan Hellenic announced today that it took delivery of the SH Diana from the Helsinki Shipyard on Friday, March 31, and that its newest and largest ship is en route in the Baltic and will pass through the Kiel Canal tomorrow night.
SH Diana now sails to Palermo for its inaugural ten-night cultural expedition cruise, The Mysteries of Carthage and the Moors, which will take guests to explore some of North Africa’s most fascinating sites before crossing the Pillars of Hercules to Seville and Lisbon. Departing Lisbon on April 25, the nine-night West Coast Historic Ports cruise will see you skirting the coasts of Spain, France, Belgium, and the Netherlands before arriving in Amsterdam.
Then, on May 4, a christening ceremony will take place with US luxury travel industry icon Valerie Wilson as godmother, naming SH Diana in the traditional way with a modern twist, sending her off in style on cruises through the Scandinavian fjords and a full Arctic Season.
