Celestyal confirms the acquisition of a new cruise ship. Originally built as the Ryndam for Holland America Line and most recently operating for P&O Australia.
The Celestyal Journey, with a capacity for 1,260 passengers, will undergo a comprehensive renovation valued at 20 million euros and a technical maintenance check before entering service.
“Global events in recent years have put our growth plans on hold, but the positive outlook in the industry, along with increased bookings for the upcoming season, offer Celestyal the opportunity to resume the fleet renewal process with the addition of new vessels,” said Chris Theophilides, CEO.
He added: “In addition to its spacious decks, numerous bars and restaurants, as well as its public areas and cabins, the Celestyal Journey will offer our guests a significant increase in premium and balcony cabins, which continue to be in high demand on all our voyages. We look forward to welcoming it to the Celestyal fleet.”.
The Celestyal Journey will undergo its refurbishment program at the Piraeus Naval Repair Zone. Details about the onboard experience and itineraries will be announced soon.
