MSC Cruises has taken delivery of its new flagship, MSC Seascape, the largest cruise ship ever built in Italy, designed with cutting-edge entertainment technology. MSC Seascape will be the second ship in the Seaside EVO class and will sail to Caribbean destinations.
The handover took place in the presence of Gianluigi Aponte, the ship's owner, founder, and executive chairman of the MSC Group. Also present at the ceremony were Pierfrancesco Vago, CEO of MSC Cruises; Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO of Fincantieri; as well as other regional and local authorities, dignitaries, key travel advisor partners, and members of the media. During the ceremony, which paid tribute to centuries-old maritime traditions, Cristiano Bazzara, director of the Fincantieri shipyards, presented Roberto Leotta, captain of the MSC Seascape, with a vial containing the water that first touched the hull when the ship was launched earlier this year.

MSC Seascape aims to connect passengers with the sea, offering a wealth of outdoor spaces to enjoy the beautiful Caribbean scenery, where she will spend her inaugural season. The ship’s distinctive design, with nearly 13,000 m² of outdoor space and a spacious promenade, invites cruisers to enjoy their Caribbean getaway and truly disconnect .”
Following a star-studded inaugural ceremony on Wednesday, December 7, MSC Seascape will set sail for Miami for its inaugural season in the Caribbean.
MSC Seascape will be the second Seaside EVO class ship to join the MSC Cruises fleet, and the fourth of the company's highly innovative Seaside class, which has been redefining passenger expectations for Caribbean cruising since MSC Seaside was first introduced in Miami in 2017.
New horizons at sea
MSC Seascape will offer an immersive experience that connects passengers with the sea through its beautiful design and stunning outdoor spaces, perfect for relaxing, dining, and entertaining. Some of the highlights include:
– Entertainment options include the new ROBOTRON, an exciting attraction that offers the thrill of a roller coaster at sea, combined with a personalized DJ music experience.
– 98 hours of exclusive onboard entertainment with interactive elements, featuring six new productions.
– 700 square meters of space dedicated to children and cutting-edge entertainment options, with newly designed spaces for ages 0 to 17.
– 2,270 cabins, with 12 different types of suites and balcony cabins (including the iconic aft suites of all Seaside class ships).
– 11 restaurants, 19 bars and lounges, with multiple options for eating and drinking outdoors.
– 6 swimming pools, including a stunning infinity pool at the stern with incredible sea views.
– MSC Yacht Club with approximately 32,000 square feet of space with ocean views from the front of the ship.
– A wide, 1,772-foot-long boardwalk that brings passengers closer to the ocean.
– A spectacular Bridge of Sighs with a glass floor on bridge 16 and a unique view of the sea.
Regarding itineraries, MSC Seascape will offer two different 7-night cruises departing from Miami:
Eastern Caribbean: Stopping at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve and Nassau in the Bahamas, San Juan in Puerto Rico, and Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic.
Western Caribbean: Stopover at the MSC Ocean Cay Marine Reserve, Cozumel in Mexico, George Town in the Cayman Islands and Ocho Rios in Jamaica.
The latest and most advanced environmental technology
The vessel will feature the latest environmental technologies and be equipped with best-in-class wastewater treatment systems. The vessel is also equipped with advanced waste management systems, as well as heat recovery systems and energy-saving LED lighting.
The vessel will also feature an underwater radiated noise management system to reduce and isolate potential effects on marine mammals.
