The new ship, which will be based outside the United States, will offer innovative Disney experiences along with the signature entertainment, world-class dining, and guest service that distinguish Disney Cruise Line. The exterior will be adorned with the fleet's iconic colors, inspired by Mickey Mouse.
The 208,000-gross-ton ship is expected to be one of the first in the cruise industry to use eco-friendly methanol, one of the lowest-emission fuels available. Disney Cruise Line expects passenger capacity to be approximately 6,000, with a crew of about 2,300.
Construction will take place at the former MV Werften shipyard in Wismar, Germany, under the direction of Meyer Werft, the Papenburg-based company that built the Disney Dream, the Disney Fantasy, and the Disney Wish.
